Makini Schools is a leader in the Kenyan system of education - drawing on global best practice - with five campuses in Nairobi & Kisumu, offering nursery, primary and high school education. We are recruiting to fill the following positions below:
The purpose of this job is to effectively carry out the administrative and academic duties required by the Class Teacher and Principal, and to support the Class Teacher with the academic enrichment of Makini’s pre-school student.
- Endeavour to maintain and develop the ethos of the school.
- Assist the Class teacher to ensure that planning, preparation, recording, assessment
- and reporting meet Makini standards.
- Prepare the learners’ work and materials beforehand as required by the Class teacher.
- Assist in overseeing students in non-classroom/outdoor activities like lunch, recess, games etc.
- To ensure that Classroom is tidy at all times and assist with the serving of meals.
- Assist with the bathroom breaks for the learners.
- Carry out supervisory duties as required like taking learners to the bus in the afternoon and receiving them in the morning.
- Be present for and assist with School expeditions.
- Assist the Class Teacher to ensure prompt and regular attendance of students and report any absence to the Principal and/or the Class Teacher timeously.
- Taking over teaching duties as when required by the Principal.
- Always promote professionalism by keeping time, keeping to a dress code suited for the work environment and delivering excellent performance.
- Perform any other duties as directed by the Principal, Deputy Principal or member of the School management team.
- Preparation of learners’ books and materials and any other class duties as directed by the Class teacher and Principal.
- Achieve and maintain hygiene standards as required by the Class teacher.
- Cordial relationship with all stakeholders.

Minimum requirements
- ECD Degree or in pursuit of one or its equivalent from a recognized College/ University/ Institution
- Be a registered TSC member
