About Role
As a Video Editor, you will be responsible for taking the raw footage shot by a film crew/ team and turning it into the final product. This means following an outline, script, or shot list and assembling the footage into one cohesive video or film. Often in video and film work, there are many camera angles and takes recorded. It is the responsibility of the Video Editor to review all the footage and create the best output by cutting and connecting various footage, adding sound effects and graphics, and fine-tuning the completed video or film. This role will work closely with the Social Media team. The position requires an ability to work efficiently on a broad range of editing and other related materials. Your focus will be to create stunning videos/films that convey and deliver the message that we want our audience to engage with our content.

What You’ll Do:
Assembling raw footage and transferring or uploading it to a computer
Following a script, screenplay, or outline
Input sound to enhance footage, which may include selecting music and writing voice-overs
Input graphics to enhance footage
Digitally splicing film and video and synchronizing them into one rough cut file
Improving and correcting lighting, coloring, and faulty footage
Creating a ‘rough cut’ (or assembly edit) of the programmed/film and determining the exact cutting for the next and final stages
Placing subtitles and lower-thirds
Reordering and fine-tuning the content to ensure the logical sequencing and smooth running of the film/video.
Overseeing the quality and progress of audio and video engineering and editing
Experimenting with styles and techniques including the design of graphic elements
Writing voiceover/commentary
Suggesting or selecting music
Working closely with the team to present a final product that matches the vision
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested
You must have:
A keen eye for detail and a critical mind
Creativity and a passionate interest in film and video editing
Patience and concentration
The ability to listen to others and to work well as part of a team
A high level of self-motivation, commitment, and dedication
Organizational and time management skills
The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
Communication skills, both written and oral.
Hours of work:

100% remote work
Start at 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm GST
