Adept Systems is a Kenyan company established in 1994, providing a full range of management consultancy services in the areas of human resourceshe Internal Audit Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing internal audit activities across the institution, ensuring operational efficiency, financial reliability, and regulatory compliance. The role will provide independent, objective assurance and advisory services to support risk mitigation and safeguard corporate assets. The successful candidate will report directly to the Chairman of the Board Audit & Risk Committee and play a key role in upholding transparency and ethical conduct throughout ICMHS.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of the annual internal audit plan in alignment with organizational goals and regulatory frameworks.
- Conduct comprehensive audits of financial and operational processes, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.
- Analyse audit outcomes and develop actionable recommendations to improve controls and reduce financial and operational risks.
- Prepare clear and concise audit reports for management and the Board Audit & Risk Committee, ensuring timely follow-up on agreed actions.
- Investigate reported or suspected non-compliance, fraud, or inefficiencies, and support resolution through evidence-based findings.
- Evaluate current risk management frameworks and suggest improvements for better oversight and accountability.
- Promote audit awareness across departments and support training initiatives to improve compliance and ethical practices.
- Maintain updated knowledge of audit tools, techniques, and emerging regulations relevant to the education and healthcare sectors.
- Ensure accurate audit documentation is preserved for internal records and future reference.
- Participate in industry seminars and professional development forums to continuously improve audit practices and standards.
Requirements

Academic and Professional Qualifications and experience required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master’s degree is an added advantage.
- Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K).
- Active membership in the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and/or ICPAK.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive internal audit experience, including 3 years in a supervisory or management role, ideally within the education sector.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a deep understanding of risk, control, and governance principles.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate audit findings clearly and drive change across diverse teams.
- Unwavering ethical standards and ability to work independently while challenging processes constructively.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise Tyre Maintenance: Oversee the inspection, maintenance, and repair of tyres to ensure they meet safety and performance standards.
- Schedule and Coordinate: Plan and schedule regular tyre inspections, rotations, and replacements.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of tyre inventory, including stock levels, usage, and orders. Communicate the same with TMS accountant and Yard Manager on daily basis on the same.
- Supplies Management: Liaise with TMS accountant for all requirements to ensure timely delivery to avoid shortfall in the yard of supplies.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure all tyre related activities comply with local and federal regulations and safety standards.
- Training and Development: Train and mentor maintenance staff on best practices for tyre management and safety procedures.
- Data Analysis: Monitor and analyses tyre performance data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
- Emergency Response: Manage emergency tyre repairs and replacements to minimize downtime.
- Budget Management: Create monthly requirements of new tyres, retreads and consumables and assist in managing the budget for tyre maintenance and procurement.
Job Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, additional technical training or certification in automotive maintenance is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in tyre management or fleet maintenance, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency in using maintenance management software.
- In-depth understanding of tyre maintenance, repair techniques, and safety standards for heavy commercial vehicles.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting heavy tyres and working in various weather conditions.
