We are looking for a Program Manager that’ll work on changing how people think about productivity and drive the concepts for the next generation of People / Search and Feed Experiences. We are seeking  someone who is energetic, thinks creatively about end user experiences, and has great collaboration and communication skills.

As the FAST Experiences team, we deliver intelligent and coherent components into all Microsoft 365 products including Outlook, Teams and Office across all platforms (web, mobile, desktop). In our work, we strive for coherence and delightful user experiences, which we achieve by building reusable and sharable components with the latest in app development and delivery technology.

Responsibilities

The Program Manager is responsible for user experiences and components across platforms, contributing to setting direction and vision for our products, working with information architecture, establishing interaction patterns, outlining designs, and defining technical approaches.

The Program Manager is an innovative product person with strong project management skills, solid technical understanding – with the ability to go deep and be hands on in development and has great interpersonal skills for coordination with engineering and design teams and partner teams across the world.

You are expected to drive a product area, understanding customer needs for your given area, develop roadmaps and negotiate priorities,  and work with internal and external partners to deliver products and features. This will require high-bandwidth interactions with partner teams such as working with designers and user researchers to define the look and feel of the experiences and leading engineers in developing features.

The Program Manager responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Contribute to developing and communicating visions and goals for your area
  • Define and write specifications and detailed implementation plans
  • Maintaining communication with stakeholders and partners during all phases the product development phase
  • Managing goals, timelines, backlogs, communication, and cross team deliverables for your area
  • Effectively apply service, product, market and project management skills to drive product and service success
  • Works closely with design and user research to create, develop, and refine innovative & compelling experience solutions that meet the business, project, and design goals and objectives.
  • Forms hypotheses and performs experiments to iterate and drive improvement in specific performance metrics.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or equivalent, computer science or related technical disciplines preferred or corresponding industry experience.
  • 3+ years experience from software product development
  • A track record of creating user experiences that aren’t just functional, but desirable
  • Background in directly designing and driving features throughout product lifecycle
  • Experience in driving partnership/collaboration that resulted in win-win solutions
  • Proven track record to anticipate and manage project risk, being ahead of engineering and remove obstacles
  • Ability to facilitate the team in solving technical problems the best possible way
  • Ability to think both strategically and tactically and strike the right balance
  • Be updated on what’s happening in the industry and be an active user of services that changes how people connect, communicate and collaborate
  • Be able to see the difference between good and bad interaction design
  • Strong verbal/written communication, influencing and organizational skills
  • Confidence, solution and result oriented, independent worker
