The Judiciary is one of the three State organs established under Chapter 10, Article 159 of the Constitution of Kenya. It establishes the Judiciary as an independent custodian of justice in Kenya. Its primary role is to exercise judicial authority given to it, by the people of Kenya. The institution is mandated to deliver justice in line with the Constitution and other laws. It is expected to resolve disputes in a just manner with a view to protecting the rights and liberties of all, thereby facilitating the attainment of the ideal rule of law. The Judiciary and its related institutions (Judicial Service Commission (JSC), Kenya Law; previously National Council for Law Reporting (NCLR), Tribunals and the Judiciary Training Institute (JTI) perform the following functions; 1. Administration of justice 2. Formulation and implementation of judicial policies 3. Compilation and dissemination of case law and other legal information for the effective administration of justice

Requirements

For appointment to this grade, the applicant must have: –

  1. A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  2. Registered as an Engineer by Engineers Board of Kenya or any other recognized professional body;
  3. A Senior Management Course from a recognized institution;
  4. Proficiency in computer application skills;
  5. Demonstrated professional competence in work performance and results; and
  6. Met the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution.

Experience:

  1. Minimum six (6) years relevant work experience;
  2. At least three (3) years at Supervisory Management level.

  2. Demonstrated ability to design, implement and maintain electrical installations equipment;
  3. Knowledgeable in regulations and guidelines for electrical works;

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Designing, implementing and maintaining electrical installations equipment’s;
  2. Coordinating installation and testing to ensure compliance with specifications;
  3. Performing detailed calculations and establishing compliance of installation standards;
  4. Inspecting completed installations and observe operations;
  5. Overseeing compliance to design and equipment specifications;
  6. Overseeing compliance with operational and safety standards;
  7. Preparing specification for materials and equipment;
  8. Reviewing electrical systems, product components and applications;
  9. Confirming systems and components capacity by design testing methods;
  10. Maintaining electrical equipment;
  11. Supervising electrical works;
  12. Carrying out feasibility studies and preparation of reports; and
  13. Ensuring compliance with the regulations and guidelines for electrical works.
