Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this grade a candidate must have:

– i. Have a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (I(CSE) Mean Grade C

ii. Have a Diploma in Clinical Medicine or its equivalent from Kenya Medical Training College or any other recognized MedicalTrarning Institution

iii. Certificate of registration from the Clinical Officers Councii;

iv. A valid professional Practicing license from the Clinical Officers’ Council and v. Certificate in Con-Lputer applications

Duties and responsibilities

– An officer at this level will work under the guidance of an experienced Clinical Officer or:

Medical Officer. Duties and responsibilities at this level will include:

– i. Seeing and examining patients;

ii. Diagnosing and treating patients’ ailments at an outpatient departnient rn a Hospital or Health Centre;

iii. Assisting in planning and conducting primary health care activitie

iv. Giving support and health education to patients;

v. Coaching students attached to hospitals and health centers;and

vi. Supervising and counseling a small number of staff engaged on routine patrols care
