Required Qualifications
- Bachelors of Medicine and Surgery
- Masters of Medicine in Clinical Oncology / radiation oncology
- Minimum of one-year experience in a busy oncology center of a busy Hospital.
- Registration Certificate with Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Council
- Valid practicing license by Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Council
Duties and Responsibilities
- Report to the CEO, Garissa Cancer Center.
- Working with patients to explain a diagnosis and stage of cancer, discuss treatment options, and assist in managing the side effects and symptoms of cancer and its treatment.
- Leading the cancer treatment team made up of various healthcare professionals and prescribing the treatment
- Treating patients with radiation therapy.
- Assisting patients with pain management.
- Performing basic administrative tasks, such as keeping records of test results, writing prescriptions, providing cancer information to patients, and monitoring treatment plans.
- Train medical and clinical staff.
- Maintenance of personal professional competency and participation in the continued professional development by self-study, attendance at scientific meetings, and participation in internal training programs.
