Description

Duties and Responsibilities
i. Diagnosing and treating conditions and diseases of the chest, such as asthma, emphysema,
tuberculosis, pneumonia and other complicated chest infections.
ii. Performing specialized procedures such as bronchoscopy.
iii. Manages pulmonology-related medical conditions based on knowledge of the indications,
contraindications, side effects, interactions and adverse reactions of pharmacologic agents and other
relevant treatment modalities.
iv. Conducting research to test or develop new medications or methods of treatment.
v. Will be part of a multi-disciplinary team in critical care areas v. Should be able to supervise medical
students and registrars.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
i. Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from a recognized institution.
ii. Master of Medicine in Internal Medicine from a recognized institution.
iii. Fellowship training in Pulmonology from a recognized institution.

iv. Registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
v. Recognition as a specialist by the KMPDC.
vi. Valid Practice License.
vii. Professional Insurance Indemnity Cover.
viii. Proficiency in computer applications.
