Description

As Product Manager you will work closely with the product and development teams to design and execute projects in line with the Company’s overall product strategy. You will take features from the roadmap and work with the development team to deliver the features to customers. This position requires creativity to contribute to the product vision and will require careful thought on how to ensure a successful product launch by focusing on key areas such as internal communication, marketing, training, customer support and sales. A strong technical understanding of software development, agile project management, and digital payments will be an advantage. This role can be based in Nairobi, Kampala or Johannesburg and we therefore welcome applications from individuals based in either of these locations.

main duties and responsibilities:

• Discuss new features with internal departments to understand requirements
• Create business requirement documents that are organized and easy for the development team to translate into software changes
• Track features and tasks in Jira software
• Run stand-up meetings, backlog grooming, sprint planning as well as retrospective and sprint reviews
• Understand customer pain points and prioritize urgent fixes while maintaining long term goals
• Collaborate with the product team to define the product vision
• Assist with any other ad-hoc tasks as required

Requirements

• 3+ years of relevant work experience with project management or product management
• Qualification in project management or similar
• Strong communication skills (oral and written)
• Excellent presentation skills with the ability to share information in a meaningful way
• Fast learner with strong problem-solving skills
• Can work independently
• Highly organised and able to prioritise work appropriately
• Willing to take accountability for work produced
• Comfortable working in a highly complex environment
• Experience with technical projects, not necessarily software
