Description
Our client, a 4- star hotel in Lamu, is looking for an experienced Procurement & Logistics Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for procurement, storekeeping, and logistics coordination. The ideal candidate Must have at least 3 years’ experience in a similar position, in the Hospitality Industry. He/she should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Purchasing & Supplies Management.
Responsibilities:
- Liaise with Finance Department on issues related to procurement & cost control.
- Monitor and coordinate deliveries of items between suppliers to ensure timely delivery of all items to the hotel.
- Carry out stocktaking on a regular basis and reconcile physical stock.
- In charge of inventory management, demand planning, receiving of incoming stocks and control.
- Plan for month-end stock takes & ensure that all stock reports are presented on time.
- Ensure that all minimum stock levels are being followed & no stock-outs are experienced.
- Ensure proper receiving and issuing of goods from stores and relevant departments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Purchasing & Supplies Management.
- Must have at least 3 years of experience in a similar role in the hospitality industry.
- Must have excellent organizational, planning/logistics and administrative skills.
- Excellent computer literacy skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours and to tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both written & oral.
- Have analytical skills.
- Accounting experience in stock management/control.
