Description
Our client, an East African Safari company is looking for a hands-on and dynamic Organizational Development Manager for its offices in Nairobi. The successful candidate will support the Group HR Director in all HR matters, particularly relating to employee development. He/she will establish an in-house employee training system that addresses company training needs including training needs assessment, new employee onboarding or orientation, management development, production cross-training, the measurement of training impact and training transfers. Experience in the hospitality industry and knowledge of the Tourism sector is a MUST!
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct periodic surveys to measure employee satisfaction and employee engagement.
- Improve Talent Management & Performance Management systems and approach.
- Coach managers in their communication, feedback, recognition, and interaction responsibilities with the employees who report to them.
- Review employee appeals through the company complaint procedure.
- Maintain the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
- Ensure planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee training programme.
- Ensure that Health and Safety protocols are in place.
- Assist managers with the selection and contracting of external training programs and consultants.
- Assist with the development of and monitor the spending of the corporate training budget.
- Assist Group HR to coordinate the full recruitment process for management roles.
- On boarding and induction of new staff.
- Manage relationships with recruitment agencies.
- Manage database of external talent and relationships with identified individuals.
- Carry out any HR/internal communication tasks/duties as assigned by Group HR.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in HR/training/people development.
- Good understanding of East African Safari tourism environment/hospitality (desirable).
- Degree/Diploma/Certificate in Human Resources (desirable).
- High proficiency in using MS office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- An excellent communicator.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to work well under pressure.
- Fluency in English and Kiswahili, verbal and written.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Willing to travel as deemed necessary to fulfil the targets for the various markets.
