Responsibilities
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a medium sized Liner Shipping/Shipping Agency sector, preferably covering East Africa Port Operations. Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics or Supply Chain is preferred.
- Excellent geographical knowledge of container shipping and terminal logistics in Mombasa is highly preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving, negotiations and communication skills. Proficient in shipping software such as Internal TMS platforms, CargoSmart ).
- Excellent fluency in English and Swahili. Willingness to travel regionally as needed

About Our Client
Our client is a leading International liner shipping agency company that provides reliable and efficient container transportation services across key international trade routes, primarily across the East African markets. They are committed to delivering operational excellence and sustainable global trade shipping for their customers. Due to the expansion of their business, they are currently seeking an Operations Manager to join their operations in Mombasa, Kenya.
Job Description
Reporting to the General Manager, based out of Kenya, You are required to carry out the below duties:
- Managing day-to-day operations of liner vessel calls across the assigned port of Mombasa
- Liaise with local port authorities, terminal operators, customs and shipping agents
- Monitor and optimize vessel turnaround times, berth planning, and stowage coordination
- Oversee container movements, documentations, compliance with local and international regulations
- Ensure cost-effective planning of equipment positioning and depot utilization
- Working closely with the commercial and line management teams to align operations with service commitments
The Successful Applicant
