  • Our client a start-up tech-led platform that connects informal retailers who retail in kiosks/retail outlets directly to fast-moving consumer goods companies (FMCGs) is looking to recruit an Operations Manager.
  • The successful candidate will supervise the movement and distribution of products to customers.
  • He/she will identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective solutions for all aspects of the organization in matters to do with logistics.

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the logistics team.
  • Define logistics requirements and implement process and system improvements across the department.
  • Own, execute and change-manage complex projects.
  • Enforce adoption and compliance to processes to merge operations and new products
  • Draft requirements, presentations and training documentation to communicate processes and priorities to stakeholders.
  • Direct the negotiation of vendor contracts related to the procurement of products and services to assure the most favourable terms, conditions, and prices ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Plan and monitor inbound and outgoing deliveries.
  • Supervise logistics, warehouse, and transportation team to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Update and evaluate metrics to assess performance and implement enhancements.
  • Develop and review the risk management framework from time to time.
  • Put internal controls and checks in ensure no fraudulent cases arise.
  • Identify Objectives and Key Result Areas for the Logistics team and manage the performance of his team.
  • Delivers metrics/analytics and do weekly reports with clear recommendations.
  • Create plans for new warehouse facilities, equipment, and systems, including the evaluation of new technologies.
  • Monitors quality control throughout the entire supply chain.
  • Track receiving and shipping against activity and address exceptions proactively.
  • Work with transportation and warehousing teams to drive continuous

    improvement on execution.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business or other applicable fields.
  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration or related field is an added advantage.
  • Must have at least 7+ years of experience in Supply Chain and Logistics management.
  • Must have a solid understanding of logistics and inventory management software.
  • In-depth knowledge of the consumer goods industry.
  • Proven experience in managing large teams of people across projects &/or business units
  • Strong local knowledge, a deep understanding of consumers, and a strong commercial acumen.
  • Strong analytical skills with a demonstrable ability to capture and communicate projections as well as to model out various scenarios using Excel and build insights from data.
  • Experience in sales or customer service will be an advantage.
  • Excellent structured thinking and communication skills.
  • Success in developing, implementing and automating processes.
  • Excellent project management skills balancing multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Able to apply creative approaches to address issues and to shift priorities and maintain momentum on multiple projects and objectives.
  • Strong organizational skills & ability to manage and prioritize hands-on experience delivering business results.
