RESPONSIBILITIES

OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT

• Manage our day-to-day supply chain (logistics centres + fleet) ensuring optimal inventory levels are kept within the system to keep supporting sales. VF currently operates 3 LCs in Kenya and a fleet of 11 trucks
• Setup and drive in country feed logistics to support our different farms in Kenya and the other geographies we expand into in East Africa
• Set KPIs and targets for departments, measure progress against these, identify and implement improvement plans focusing on service delivery and cost optimization
• Design the future of our supply chain to support our multi-market and multi-country approach. We plan on opening at least 2 new LCs including in a new country and expanding our fleet capacity to support our expansion plan

QUALITY MANAGEMENT

• Enforce best practices across our processes to ensure that spoilage is kept as close to 0%
• Manage a team of 6 QC analysts and associates and ensure they are adequately trained to execute their tasks
• Design and integrate quality control into our feed logistics process

INTERNAL CONSULTING

• Oversee our team of internal consultants as they support all parts of our business by implementing a variety of projects (for example: report automation, process redesign and formalisation, process
• Identify improvement projects company wide, scope them and drive the team to implementing them

REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS and SKILLS:

• 7+ years of experience with a blend of Operations Management or Management consulting with a focus on Ops related projects.
• Capacity to understand complex supply chains and challenges, break them down into problems that can then be tackled and resolve them
• Attention to detail and thrive for constant operations improvement to ensure consistency in delivering value to other parts of the business, day in, day out
• Experience in managing multiple teams across different functions
• Ability to thrive working collaboratively with both senior colleagues and more junior ones, solving problems independently, and in a fast-paced environment
• A successful candidate will possess a strong work ethic, ability to work in teams, intellectual curiosity, and ability to structure and solve problems
• Master’s Degree in Operations Management, Supply chain, Logistics, or any relevant engineering degree
