Description
- Served for a minimum period of Six (6) years, Three (3) of which must be in the grade of Geologist I, CSG 9 or in an equivalent position in the wider Public Service;
- Bachelor's degree in any of the following disciplines: Petroleum Engineering, Petroleum Engineering Technology, Petroleum Geophysics, Petroleum Geochemistry, Petroleum Geoscience, Geology or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
- Certificate in Senior Management Course lasting not less than Four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
- Certificate in Computer Application skills from a recognized institution; and
- Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities will entail:
- Analysing and verifying petroleum geological data submitted by oil and gas companies;
- Site planning and layout for the development of oil and gas infrastructure;
- Undertaking a cost benefit analysis of upstream, midstream and downstream opportunities;
- Maintaining and managing geological technical data and samples related to oil and gas;
- Designing of geological field surveys for oil and gas operations;
- Developing oil and gas geological data security programmes;
- Participating in resource planning for oil and gas programs;
- Ensuring compliance with the guidelines for oil and gas companies; and
- Undertaking oil and gas research programmes.
