Network Architect – DCN

Job Objective:

As a Network Architect, you will be responsible for design, implementation and optimization of a secure global DCN infrastructure to support management of Transmission and IP networks. You will play a major role in the DCN ecosystem that will include deployments that are secure, efficient and efficiently monitored.

Reporting Line: Network Technology Manager

Responsibilities

  • Design, deployment and maintenance of network devices.
  • Integration of existing and new DCN infrastructure into scalable monitoring systems.
  • Perform security audits and enhancements on the DCN network.
  • Support Projects, Operations and Engineering teams on issues relating to DCN operations.
  • Manage workload and prioritize tasks to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Evaluate, develop, select, operationalize and implement DCN infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including PMO, operations, procurement and finance, to ensure alignment with business objectives and technical requirements.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to enhance DCN network reliability and resilience.
  • Maintain an up-to-date stocking of DCN infrastructure spares to minimize prolonged outages on the DCN network in the event of device failures.
  • Proactively identify potential DCN infrastructure bottlenecks or performance issues and implement solutions to improve overall DCN network efficiency.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to inform procurement decisions and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Establish and enforce quality assurance processes to ensure the reliability, security, and integrity of networks.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduate in IT/Computer Science/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Juniper’s JNCIP, Cisco’s CCNP or equivalent experience.

Experience & Skills 

  • At least 5 year’s experience in networking industry, with a focus on network engineering.
  • In-depth knowledge on routing protocols including and not limited to OSPF/ISIS, BGP.
  • In-depth knowledge on Junos, IOS-XE, EoS and RouterOS
  • Experience with network performance monitoring and analysis tools, as well as capacity planning methodologies.
  • In-depth knowledge on network and system security.
  • Experience in writing Network Configuration and Design Documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in designing, deploying, migrating and optimizing DCN infrastructure.
  • Knowledgeable in network security
