The Mandate of the Board The Mandate of the Board is derived from the core functions as set out in the Engineers Act, 2011. The Mandate of EBK is: Registration of engineers and engineering consulting firms; Regulation of engineering professional services; Setting of engineering standards; Development of the general practice of engineering; and Training and capacity development
JOB PURPOSE
The Manager, Compliance and Enforcement willbe responsible for formulating and implementing strategies for carrying out surveillance to ensure effective and efficient compliance and enforcement ofthe Engineers Act 2011 and the regulations thereof.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of theofficer will entail: –
- Coordinating compliance checkson all engineering works and services
- Coordinating investigations ofallegations of contravention of the Engineers Act 2011.
- Investigating allegations ofcontravention of the Code of Conduct & Ethics.
- Undertaking investigations oncomplaints and suspicion of non-compliance.
- Liaising with County Governmentand other relevant agencies with respect to compliance and enforcement.
- Preparingp rocedures for compliance
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS
For appointment to this grade, an officer must: –
- Have at least eight (8) years of relevant workexperience three (3) of which should have been at supervisory level;
- Bachelors degree in Engineering from a recognized institution;
- Masters Degree from a recognized institution;
- Be a registered professional engineer;
- Be a continuing member of an engineeringprofessional body;
- Have a Certificate in Management Course lasting notless than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
- Have Proficiency in Computer applications skills;
- Demonstrated professional competence as reflectedin work performance and results;
- Fulfil the requirements of Chapter Six of theConstitution.
