As an Associate Advocate at James Oketch and Company Advocates, you will play a key role in providing legal counsel, representation and support to our clients. You will work closely with our team on a wide range of legal matters, contributing your expertise and skills to achieve favorable outcomes for our clients.

• Legal Research and Analysis: Conducting in-depth legal research and analysis on complex legal issues, statutes, and case law to provide sound legal advice and strategic guidance to clients.
• Drafting and Reviewing Legal Documents: Drafting and reviewing various legal documents, including contracts, agreements, pleadings, briefs, opinions, and correspondence, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Client Representation: Representing clients in negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings, advocating for their interests and rights with professionalism and diligence.
• Case Management: Managing a caseload of matters efficiently and effectively, including case strategy development, document management, court filings, and deadlines coordination.
• Legal Consultation: Providing timely and practical legal advice to clients on a wide range of legal issues, addressing their concerns, and assisting them in making informed decisions.
• Collaboration and Teamwork: Collaborating with the legal team, paralegals, and support staff to deliver comprehensive legal solutions and ensure seamless client service.
• Business Development: Contributing to business development efforts, including client relationship management, networking activities, and participation in firm marketing initiatives.

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from a recognized institution.
• Admission to the Kenyan Bar as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with one (1) year or less post-admission experience.
• Strong legal research, writing and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
• Ability to manage complex legal matters
