Description

Listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange in 1998, the Bank serves its various markets through 4 business segments: Personal, Business, Commercial and Corporate & Investment banking.
DESCRIPTION
To provide legal counsel and support to the Bank in relation to contracts, litigation and credit.
The main responsibilities include:
- Review all documents presented for drawdown on credit facility to ensure that the Bank’s interest is adequately protected and conditions precedent met before disbursement.
- Be responsible for preparing, reviewing, analysing and negotiating legal, credit and security related documents.
- Act as a liaison with outside counsel.
- Ensuring the due perfection and protection of the Bank’s interest in securities and the Bank owned properties.
- Provide appropriate legal support to the Bank Remedial team in recovery of credit facilities.
- Provide advisory services to the various units and sections of the Bank on their activities.
- Provide company secretarial support from time-to-time
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Law from a reputable university.
- Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
- Minimum of 4 years post qualification experience in Legal within the Financial Services Industry
- Knowledge and understanding of banking operations (international & domestic)
