Description
An international conservation organization that works across Africa, is looking for an HR & Office Manager for their Admin and Operational hub in Nanyuki, Kenya. The successful candidate will be responsible for the HR and Office functions as well as implement a 5-year strategic roadmap (vision) that is updated annually with strategic objectives, activities, and budgets for the HR division. He/she will also develop quarterly programmes to create awareness and reinforce the organization’s vision, values and culture He/she must live in Nanyuki area or willing to move to Nanyuki and be willing to work on weekends and public holidays when required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage annual budgets for the HR team and for the Nanyuki office operation in conjunction with the Operations team.
- Identify the top HR Risks on a yearly review basis and report to MD’s for further action.
- Develop and Implement Action plan to mitigate top HR Risks.
- Define and document regulatory requirements, including contracts, per country where staff and/or consultants are working.
- Set up and conduct monthly report meetings with all MDs.
- Assist with the development and upkeep, implementation and record of all consultants and interns/fellows contracts & terms of reference.
- Management of the Employee and Consultants salary, remuneration benchmarking/banding, benefits and increases system.
- Develop and maintain all the required policies and procedures for employees and consultants.
- Assist with all new recruits, including induction and welcome to the organization.
- Provide negotiation and mediation support as needed and appropriate.
- Develop and maintain standard terms and conditions, processes and protocols, by which staff and consultants and interns/fellows are recruited.
- For all direct reports, develop and implement TORs, including individual KPAs and KPIs.
- In conjunction with the MDs, oversee all required HR Administration functions within the organization.
- Develop and negotiate with providers of benefits – health insurance etc.
- Manage all the operational systems, procedures and related staff in this department.
- Oversee and manage all travel for the broader team including oversight of bookings and travel suppliers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in HR Management.
- At least 5 years of work experience in a similar role.
- Member of IHRM.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Must be computer literate, be proficient in touch typing, ideally familiar with Aren Software.
