Kitui County is located 170Km to the South East of Nairobi City. It covers an area of about 30,496 km2. It borders Machakos and Makueni Counties to the West, Tana River County to the East, Taita-Taveta County to the South, and Embu and Tharaka- Nithi Counties to the North. it is about two and half hours’ drive from Nairobi and 30 minutes flight by a chopper. The envisaged County long-term development blue print covers the economic and investment zones which were endorsed by stakeholders in November 2013.

Requirements for Appointment

1. Be a Kenyan Citizen;
2. Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design or its equivalent from a recognized institution
3. At least 2 years’ experience in graphic design work;
4. Excellent Information Technology skills, especially with design and photo editing software;
5. Exceptional creativity, innovation; and
6. Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Design graphics for use in media products such as magazines, labels, advertising and signage for our brands;
2. Study the design briefs and create engaging graphics out of it;
3. Design web pages, brochures, logos, signs, books, magazine covers, annual reports, advertisements and other communication materials;
4. Meet with brand owners to gain an understanding of their needs;
5. Create or incorporate illustrations, pictures, and designs to reflect the desired theme and tone of communications;
6. Determine size and arrangement of copy and illustrative material as well as font style and size;
7. Produce drafts for review by stakeholders and make revisions based on the feedback received;
8. Review final productions for errors and ensure that final prints reflect stakeholder specifications; and
9. Any other duty as may be assigned by a competent authority.

Salary Scale:

The salary, allowances and other benefits attached to the above positions will be as determined by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission.
