Description
We are looking for a passionate and skilled Grants and MEAL Coordinator to oversee grant management, and reporting processes as well as supporting MEAL and grants applications, ensuring compliance, quality, and smooth daily operations. This is a crucial role working with the Grants and Partnership Manager and Programmes Teams to strengthen LAW’s portfolio of grants from work institutional donors and to further develop tools, policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
The Grants and MEAL Coordinator will:
- Oversee grant documentation and continually improve our grants management systems.
- Lead on the organisation’s grants calendar and implementation of grants’ SOPs.
- Organize all administrative aspects over grants ‘cycle such as new grants opening and closure.
- Maintain all grants tools, checklists and databases update to date and accessible.
- Ensure high quality and timely narrative and financial reporting to donors, including through donor portals as required.
- Map out donor rules and regulations to ensure compliance across programmes and lead on training staff on donor compliance.
- Support due diligence processes for donors and support the PMs in due diligence exercises for partners.
- Support and advise on donors ‘engagement through research on donor priorities and maintaining the donor’s matrix.
- Track and share relevant funding opportunities.
- Lead on collecting and support analysis of organisation data through internal tools.
- Contribute to consolidating the Global indicators trackersand MEAL policies.
- Support programmes in the field to develop MEAL plans and evaluation processes.
- Support the development of project fact sheets, presentation and briefing;
Qualifications
- You must have the legal right to work in Kenya.
- Master’s degree in law, international relations, social sciences or relevant field.
- Demonstrated 5 years’ experience or more in a similar position working for an international organization specialising in human rights and/or humanitarian programming.
- Track record of working on EU grants with sub-grantees.
- Excellent drafting skills and experience of writing high quality reports and proposals.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
- Good knowledge of donor rules and regulations, particularly EU and European Donors.
- Good knowledge of legal programmes is an advantage.
- Ability and good knowledge of consortium management is an advantage.
- Experience working with foundations and trusts.
- Flexibility and ability to work under pressure and meet conflicting tight deadlines
