About the Opportunity

TREES is growing in service of smallholder farmers in Africa through the expansion of funding for its Forest Garden program, driven by the growing demand for carbon off-sets and broad interest in the “triple bottom line” of TREES programs which address needs for greater income, improved nutrition and regeneration of degraded lands.

Join a dedicated and talented team and contribute your skills in financial modeling, budgeting and business analysis to improve the quality of our budgeting and tracking, the quality of our commercial proposals and improved revenue projections.

In this role, you will...

Develop, disseminate and support the use of annual and project budget templates that facilitate department and country level budgetary management.

Finalize the annual budget in partnership with the Senior Director of Finance and department leaders.

Undertake financial analysis and commercial proposal development for major funders.

Participate in the integration of new business data streams with project budgeting and the financial and operational infrastructure to increase transparency, support timely review of key information and support management decision making.

Review and interpret contractual documents to understand the opportunities and risks of various projects and activities and partner with programmatic colleagues to maintain compliance and strong financial control.

Contribute as part of a diversified program support infrastructure to scope and undertake special projects for project or corporate improvements.

Partner with the Financial Controller to execute timely and effective financial reporting, learning where necessary how to operate financial reporting programs.

Requirements

You’ll be a great fit if you have...

Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance or business administration or related field

3 years of financial management experience

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Expert level in operation of Microsoft Excel and similar programs for extensive data manipulation and experience integrating with software such ERPs and CRM and Salesforce.

Demonstrated capacity in financial modeling and analysis.

Experience with analysis of direct and indirect rates is a plus as well as familiarity donor contracts.

Strong ability to manage time and organize priorities within deadlines.

A deep passion for our mission to relieve poverty and support the regeneration of degraded lands.

Great team player willing collaborate for great results and problem solving where necessary.
