Description

Our client, a premium Made-in-Kenya accessories brand rooted in heritage, craftsmanship, and sustainability, is seeking a detail oriented General Manager.

The ideal candidate must have manufacturing experience (ideally in textiles or apparel), a passion for quality and ethical production, and essential MRP knowledge. The General Manager will have full oversight of production, HR, administration, logistics, inventory, and procurement. The role requires a systems-minded operator with the ability to build structure, lead teams, manage resources, and maintain high standards of execution across all departments.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations across production, HR, administration, logistics, inventory, and procurement while setting and tracking performance metrics to align with strategic goals.
  • Oversee warehousing, dispatch, and shipping processes to ensure goods are delivered on time, in good condition, and cost-effectively, resolving any logistical or customs issues quickly.
  • Lead production scheduling based on confirmed orders and capacity, align materials and labor to timelines, and use data to improve forecasting, throughput, and delivery performance.
  • Manage raw material and finished goods stock, forecast needs, set reorder points, and maintain strong supplier relationships, prioritizing ethical, sustainability, and local sourcing.
  • Ensure consistent quality output with minimal waste, drive workflow efficiency, preventive maintenance, and cost reduction initiatives to meet output and quality targets.
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, and employee relations, while ensuring compliance with labor laws and maintaining effective administrative systems.
  • Manage budgets, cash flow, payroll, and cost tracking, monitor COGS and margins, and prepare operational financial reports to guide strategic decisions.

 Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Engineering, Business, or related field; MBA is a plus.
  • 8+ years in operations or general management, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with MRP (Manufacturing Resource Planning) systems and data-informed operational decision-making.
  • Strong background in production planning, inventory control, procurement, and logistics execution.
  • Experience managing HR, and admin functions in a hands-on environment.
  • Industry experience in textiles, apparel, or high-quality consumer goods is a strong plus.

 

  • Monthly Gross Salary: Kes 200,000 – 250,000
