Responsibilities
Our client, a technology company that is changing the way the world thinks about transportation is looking for a Grocery & Retail Account Manager to help shape the future of Uber Eats’ Grocery and Retail business in Kenya. This is an exciting opportunity to own key partnerships, solve complex problems, and drive growth in one of the most dynamic and evolving parts of our business. As a Grocery & Retail Account Manager, you’ll play a crucial role in managing and growing our partnerships with top retailers. You’ll work with them to optimize operations, drive sales, and ensure an exceptional experience for our users. With the goal of making Uber Eats the go-to platform for delivery, you’ll help define the future of delivery in the grocery and retail space.
What you’ll do.
- Drive Growth: Work closely with retail partners to expand their presence on Uber Eats through new locations, innovative business models (like dark stores), and strategies to grow sales at existing locations.
- Account Management: Own the relationship with key retail accounts, becoming their trusted partner. Maximize their success on Uber Eats by optimizing marketing, engagement, and financial performance.
- Optimize Operations with Data: Use data to identify opportunities, track performance, and implement solutions that boost results. Build processes that scale and drive efficiency.
- Lead Projects & Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with cross-functional teams (operations, marketing, business development) to achieve growth objectives. Bring strategic thinking to all aspects of the partner journey.
- Marketing Initiatives: Work with the marketing team to develop campaigns that educate users and promote the grocery and retail category, ensuring they have the best possible experience when ordering.
Basic Qualifications.
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in enterprise partnerships, account management, business development, project management, or consulting.
- Autonomous & Proactive: You thrive in fast-paced environments and can take ownership of projects from start to finish, driving growth and overcoming challenges along the way.
- Problem-Solver: When problems arise, you tackle them head-on, using creative thinking to find solutions and keep things moving forward.
- Project Management Expert: You are detail-oriented and can develop and execute plans that deliver results, even when faced with ambiguity or unexpected challenges.
- Relationship Builder: Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must. You can build lasting relationships with both partners and internal teams, advocating for your partners’ needs and ensuring alignment across stakeholders.
- Data-Driven Decision-Maker: You use data to inform decisions and guide strategy, with a keen eye for assessing performance and making sound commercial judgments.
- Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using tools like Excel or Google Sheets to analyse data and drive performance.
- Strong Presentation Skills (written and oral).
- SQL knowledge or experience with data analysis tools will be an added advantage.
