The Mandate of the Board The Mandate of the Board is derived from the core functions as set out in the Engineers Act, 2011. The Mandate of EBK is: Registration of engineers and engineering consulting firms; Regulation of engineering professional services; Setting of engineering standards; Development of the general practice of engineering; and Training and capacity development
JOB PURPOSE
The Manager Accreditation is responsible for implementation of the quality assurance frameworkfor accreditation and assessment of engineering programmes in Kenya
DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of the officer will entail:-
- Reviewing and recommending forapproval or rejection of all assessments of engineering qualifications offoreign persons;
- Overseeing the development ofevaluation tools for local and foreign engineering programmes;
- Coordinating and supervising inspection, monitoring,and evaluation of accreditation for engineering programmes;
- Receiving and compiling allaccreditation reports for various engineering programmes in local institutions;and
- Contributing to the developmentof the accreditation standards, manuals, and policy guidelines foraccreditation.
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS
For appointment tothis grade, an officer must: –
- Have a minimum of eight (8)years relevant work experience three (3) years of which should be at asupervisory level;
- Have a Bachelors Degree in anyof the following disciplines – Engineering, Statistics, Communications,Economics, Finance, Law, or Social Science from a recognized university;
- Have a Masters Degree in any ofthe following disciplines – Engineering, Statistics, Communications, Economics,Finance, Law, or Social Science from a recognized university;
- Be registered with a relevantprofessional body where applicable;
- Have a Management course lastingnot less than four (4) weeks;
- Have Proficiency in computerapplications;
- Demonstrated professionalcompetence in work performance and results; and
- Fulfil the requirements ofChapter Six of the Constitution.
