Our client operating along parklands area with clients from its environment and beyond and operating extended hours is looking for a Chef who will be tasked with ensuring all food preparation and delivery related operations are executed with precision.

Job Summary

The best candidate will be planning menus, prepare and deliver a complete menu that delights our guests in a timely manner and ensuring that the food meets high-quality standards.

Duties

  1. Handling all food-related concerns and taking care of all food preparation needsat restaurants or any other places where food is regularly served
  2. Planning the menu, keeping in mind budget, and availability of seasonal ingredients and overseeing all kitchen operations.
  3. Set up the kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment, like knives, pans and kitchen scales.
  4. Ensuring that all food is of excellent quality and served in a timely manner.
  5. Coordinating kitchen staff, and assisting them as required.
  6. Training staff to prepare and cook all the menu items.
  7. Taking stock of ingredients and equipment, and placing orders to replenish stock.
  8. Enforcing safety and sanitation standards in the kitchen.
  9. Creating new recipes to keep the menu fresh.
  10. Keeping up to date with industry trends.
  11. Receiving feedback and making improvements where necessary
  12. Cleaning up after the meals are made

Job Requirements

  1. Diploma or certificate in Food and Beverage Management.
  2. At least 2 years hospitality working experience and advanced knowledge of the culinary arts.
  3. Analytical mind and Problem-solving skills
  4. Portfolio of creative, unique dishes, sanitation and quality control.
  5. Great leadership, excellent multitasking ability and interpersonal skills.
  6. Ability to run stocktaking and place orders for resupply.
  7. Exemplary work ethic in a high-pressure environment.
  8. Passion and pride for delighting people with food.

Compensation

A guiding monthly wage of Kes 40,000.00 will be given to the most suitable candidate and can be negotiated depending on one experience and qualifications
