About the Anticipated Project
ICS SP seeks to recruit for the position of a Project Coordinator- Parenting and Child Protection in anticipation of a new project on parenting that will be implemented in Kilifi and Garissa Counties in collaboration with government and other stakeholders. The new project will layer on existing parenting, nutrition and ECD interventions and will aim at building the capacity of different frontline paraprofessionals to implement the national parenting programme that is being developed under the coordination of government.
Function Title: Project Coordinator –Positive Parenting and child protection

Purpose of function:
The coordinator will provide technical leadership and coordinate the implementation of project activities, and contribute to and lead in developing required standard operating procedures, referral mechanisms and targeted parenting materials. She/he will coordinate partnership efforts with various stakeholders and support capacity building of different project actors and beneficiaries. She/he will coordinate overall project monitoring, evaluation and reporting . **
Location: Garissa/Kilifi

Summary of roles and responsibilities
• Coordinate the implementation and monitoring of all project related activities in Garissa and Kilifi
• Network and cultivate working relationships with various government and non-government stakeholders and ensure their meaningful involvement in the project
• Coordinate and build capacity of stakeholders and project beneficiaries on parenting strategies and interventions, including providing TOT training paraprofessionals to deliver the national parenting programme
• Lead the pilot and roll out of the national parenting programme in Kilifi and Garissa
• Coordinate with other key stakeholders on parenting ensuring that the project approach and activities build on and strengthen ongoing parenting , ECD, child protection and nutrition efforts.
• Provide technical support in developing the national parenting programme, SOPs , and service referral mechanisms
• Lead in developing targeted content and materials on parenting for different paraprofessional groups
• Lead project monitoring , evaluation and reporting efforts including the development and deployment of monitoring tools and documentation of success and lessons learnt across all project activities
• Facilitate documentation of successes and lessons learnt
• Manage project resources efficiently to maximize project outcomes
• Inspire, lead and motivate project staff

Desired qualifications, knowledge and experience
• Bachelors degree in development studies, social sciences, community development , public development , ECD or related disciplines . Master’s degree in a related field will be an added advantage
• Minimum 7 years’ professional field experience in parenting, ECD and child protection programming
• Demonstrated understanding of government structures and systems.
• Partnership and networking experience with government and non-state actors
• Excellent training, facilitation and presentation skills
• Solid understanding on planning, budgeting and project reporting
• Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
• Demonstrated capacity and experience in managing self and lead staff to ensure appropriate programme management processes are being used
